By default Joomla shows the date and time in the article. While this is, for the most part, a useful feature there are plenty of times I'd rather not have the time appear. Who needs to know that I was up at 4 AM working on an article? You can globally turn off the date display in the Article Manager in Parameters, it's pretty limited. You can only turn it on or off.

Print Article is Right Aligned
I noticed when I tried to print an article from one of the contributors at www.shitheadery.com that after clicking on the Print icon the new page comes up right aligned and that the punctuation is a bit screwed up.
After a bit of searching it seems that this happens after upgrading Joomla to 1.5.15 and appears to be an error in the code of the component.php file found in the templates/system folder.
I tried a couple of the solutions including replacing the component.php file, but the one that worked for me was to save the following code as "component.php" and upload the new file to the root folder of the template you're using.
Copy the code from this thread (the suggestion by tj.baker) to Notepad or something like it. Save the file as "component.php", and upload it to your template folder.
Adding Plugin Code to an HTML Module
Every time I get a special plugin that can add stuff to content, like attachments, mp3, video, etc. using something like this {link}put your stuff in here{/link} and the plug-in picks up the code and places the video, mp3, download in the content of the article.
Joomla Upload Limit
By default Joomla has an upload limit of 20 MB. A little slim for the 21st century.
You can increase this limit by adding a php.ini file or two on the server.
Make sure you put the file in the affected folder, ie the upload folder and the administrator folder as well. You'll also want to put it in the root folder.
